On Thursday, the Renamo party elected Manuel de Araújo as the head of the party's list to run in the next provincial elections for Governor of Zambézia.
"We already know who is going to drive this train during the election campaign so that we can win Zambézia province, with a member of this party as governor. We have chosen Manuel de Araújo to be our list leader," he said.
The Renamo representative, whose name we have not been able to ascertain, said, however, that the party's candidate will not, on his own, achieve the desired goals if he goes it alone.
"We need to be together during the election campaign so that Manuel de Araújo emerges victorious in this great race for governor of Zambézia province," he said.
He said that grassroots work had already been carried out, culminating in the election of Renamo members as pre-candidates for the Assembly of the Republic.
"These 22 districts of Zambézia should be represented in the Assembly of the Republic. The MPs should do field work," he said.
