Filipe Nyusi desafia camaradas a “carregar” Chapo rumo à vitória nas eleições de Outubro próximo

Frelimo's candidate for the October 9 presidential elections, Daniel Francisco Chapo, was publicly presented yesterday in the city of Quelimane by the party's current president, Filipe Nyusi.

The presentation took place at the Caldas de Chirangano soccer field, in the municipality of Quelimane, Zambezia province, in the presence of members of the Political Commission, members of Parliament and thousands of Frelimo members and supporters.

During this first public presentation of the Frelimo party's presidential candidate to the country's electorate, the president of the Frelimo party, Filipe Nyusi, called on members, sympathizers, militants and the population in general to work to ensure Daniel Chapo's victory in the seventh presidential elections on October 9.

"Frelimo has a responsibility to govern without creating enemies, in the country, in the region and in the world. The challenge is to win the elections. Let's all 'carry' Chapo towards victory in the October 9 elections," urged Filipe Nyusi.

On the occasion, he presented his profile, highlighting that as a leader he began as an administrator in the district of Nacala-Velha, in Nampula province, and shortly afterwards went on to carry out the same duties in Palma, before becoming governor of Inhambane province.

For his part, Daniel Chapo urged Mozambican men, women and young people to work together for the victory of his party and its candidates in these elections.

"We are the wood and Frelimo is the carpenter. This means that we do what the party plans. And now we have to fight to achieve victory," were the words spoken by Frelimo's candidate for the Presidency of the Republic, Daniel Chapo.

Chapo revealed that before the start of the electoral campaign scheduled for August 24, an extraordinary session of the Central Committee will be held to approve its electoral manifesto, the basic document for drawing up the next Five-Year Plan.

The Electoral Manifesto will be released during the 45 days of the electoral campaign. He therefore invited all Mozambicans, including Frelimo's social organizations, to work together for the country's development.

"We will return to Zambézia to work together, with the combatants, with the OMM [Mozambican Women's Organization] with the youth so that we can win and win well on October 9," he concluded.
