Mozambique has recorded 15,637 cases of cholera in six months, resulting in 33 deaths, according to the latest figures from the Ministry of Health (MISAU).
The report on the progression of the disease drawn up by the Ministry of Health from the beginning of the disease until April 25, 2024, indicates that the lethality rate remains at 0.2%.
The province of Nampula has the most records of the disease, with 5,269 reported, causing 12 deaths, followed by 2,873 in Tete, with 10 deaths, and 2,431 in Cabo Delgado, with one death.
There are currently active outbreaks of the disease in several districts of Nampula, Cabo Delgado, Tete, Zambézia, Sofala, Manica and Maputo.
