The consultants hired by the government to develop the project to rehabilitate National Road No. 1 will present the final version of the report next May, and the initial part has already been delivered to the government.
The project will initially intervene on critical stretches of 1,000 kilometers, covering Inhcope/Gorongosa (70 km); Gorongosa/Caia (168 km); Chimuara/Nicoadala (176 km); and Metoro/Pemba (98 km).
According to the Prime Minister, Adriano Maleiane, it is the Executive's priority to ensure passable conditions to facilitate the movement of people and goods.
Speaking in parliament on Thursday, during a session of questions to the government, he said that work was underway to attract investment for the complete rehabilitation of the EN1.
The conceptual project will include the definition of the road's level of service, geometric design, hydraulic system, type of paving, proposed materials to be used, among others.
