The National Electoral Commission (CNE) and the Technical Secretariat for Electoral Administration (STAE) registered 4.3 million voters in the first 24 days of registration.
This figure, according to information released today, Tuesday (09), by the CNE, during the update of voter registration data, corresponds to 58.44% of the estimated number of voters to be registered in the national territory for the seventh general elections on October 9.
At the time, CNE spokesman Paulo Cuinica explained that the increase in the number of people registered was as expected, and that the usual acceleration as the deadline passed had to be taken into account. However, "the figures are a bit low, as some brigades have not yet provided their data due to communication difficulties".
For this process, which began on March 15, 6,330 voter registration brigades have been approved, 6,033 of them in Portugal and 297 abroad.
