The National Criminal Investigation Service (SERNIC) seized 1,206 kilograms (kg) of holothurians and 25 kg of shark fins in Ancuabe district, Cabo Delgado province.

The corporation is looking for the owner of the merchandise, which is presumed to have been captured in that district and was destined for Nampula province.

SERNIC detained an individual who claimed to be a security guard in connection with the goods. Speaking to the press, he said that the goods belonged to his boss. He confessed that he had also been tasked with transporting the cargo to Nampula. He said he didn't know the recipient of the package, but was given the number of the person he should contact when he got there.
