There are an unspecified number of Republic of Mozambique Police (PRM) officers receiving 200 meticais salaries. This is due to the fact that the salaries of officers who received double salaries between June and August 2023 are being amortized.

According to the newspaper EvidenceAccording to the report, the amortizations communicated to PRM by the Centre for the Development of Financial Information Systems (CEDSIF) should cover 38,624 members of the corporation. However, there are agents whose names don't appear on the amortization lists and who have been receiving salaries of less than 1000 meticais, 200 meticais and even 100 meticais for around two months.

The agents who demanded the repayment of the amortizations from the competent authorities were promised repayment and adjustments to their accounts, but so far inconsistencies have prevailed.

A PRM officer quoted by the newspaper laments the impossibility of launching a strike in the corporation.

"Unfortunately, we can't go on strike, but what is happening is not normal. In February I only received 100 meticais and the following month history repeated itself," he said.
