The results of the autopsy into the death of Celeste Macuanha, a member of the Municipal Assembly of Quelimane, in Zambezia, on the Frelimo side, are now known.  

The autopsy results released this Saturday reveal that the victim was beaten and then charred.

Quoted by Rádio Moçambique, the coroner of Quelimane Central Hospital, Emílio Chipangura, said that "Celeste Machaunha suffered several blows to the head, which was the main cause of death".

The victim's body was found last Friday in the village of Cerâmica, in Nicoadala, with signs of burns.

Celeste Macuanha's remains were buried this Saturday in Quelimane.
