The president of the ecologist party Movimento Terra, João Massango, has been sworn in as a member of the Matola Municipal Assembly.
Massango will represent the benches of the Democratic Movement of Mozambique (MDM) party, with which he has partnered to join the list.
Meanwhile, the Matola Municipal Assembly will be led by Beatriz Nhaulau, from the Frelimo party, who was elected with 38 votes, against 32 for Alberto Vaissone from Renamo.
According to Domingo, Tomo Nhongo, from Frelimo, was chosen as first vice-president, while Alberto Vaissone will be the second vice-president. The assembly chose Titos Vilanculos, from Frelimo, as secretary.
