Mambas encaixam 500 mil dólares pela participação no CAN

The Mambas will receive 500,000 dollars (32.5 million meticais) from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for their participation in the African Football Championship (CAN).

According to CAF, the measure is aimed at stimulating national teams that have made their mark on the top tier of African soccer.

It is worth remembering that Mozambique was eliminated in the group stage of the competition with two draws against Egypt and Ghana and a defeat against Cape Verde.

CAF also said that the teams that finished third in their groups but did not qualify for the round of 16 will be entitled to 700,000 dollars, approximately 45.5 million meticais.

The teams that qualify for the round of 16 will receive a prize of 800,000 dollars, around 52 million meticais, and those that reach the quarter-finals will receive 1.3 million dollars, equivalent to 84.5 million meticais.

The winner of the race will get 7 million dollars (455 million meticais), the runner-up 4 million (260 million meticais). The semi-finalists will receive 2.5 million dollars (162.5 million meticais).
