Bernardino Rafael challenges police to be better prepared for general elections

"Next up will be the general election campaign to elect the President of the Republic, members of the National Assembly, provincial governors and members of provincial assemblies, and you are challenged to prepare yourselves to be able to guarantee that these upcoming elections take place without altering public order and security," said the Commander General of the PRM, Bernardino Rafael.

The last local elections were considered the most violent and conflictive in the country's history. According to the data provided by the General Commander, 401 public demonstrations were recorded, dozens of which were violent.

"It's a big challenge we have, judging by the political emotions we experienced in the local elections, it's a challenge, it's a big challenge for the police force of the Republic of Mozambique," said the Commander General of the PRM.

"Our appeal is the same: to find a field for dialogue to resolve all those electoral conflicts," said Bernardino Rafael.

The Commander General of the PRM was speaking this Wednesday in Ressano Garcia during the closing of Operation Hope.
