Mozambican striker Lau King will not be renewing his contract with Angolan Premier League club Sagrada Esperança.
The News that the player had, on his own initiative, submitted a letter of termination of contract to the club's management due to Sagrada Esperança's failure to comply with certain clauses of the agreement.
One of the issues behind the break-up is the club's failure to regularize the player's immigration status (lack of a work visa) and wage arrears. However, the latter issue has already been resolved in full by the Angolan club.
The player says he wasn't happy at Sagrada Esperança, as he wasn't used much and was far from his goals, scoring goals, as well as having an unsatisfactory relationship in the locker room with the rest of his teammates.
The Angolan club claims it dismissed the player because of his poor performance.
Lau King was national champion for União Desportiva do Songo in 2018 and 2022, and was one of the top scorers.
