Niassa already has Tmcel's 4.5G network

Niassa já dispõe da rede 4.5G da Tmcel

Niassa is the latest province to be covered as part of Tmcel's ongoing network modernization and expansion project, which means that all the country's provinces will be covered by the 4.5G network.

With more than 20 new antennas already installed in that province to date, when completed the project to modernize and expand Tmcel's network will have around 73% underway throughout the country.

The implementation of this project, budgeted at 132 million US dollars and scheduled for completion in May 2024, has led to a substantial improvement in the quality of the network, specifically with regard to voice and data, as well as an increase in the capacity and availability of services provided to international and regional (interland) customers.

This network improvement has also helped to promote financial inclusion and e-money transactions in the formal and informal sectors, through mKesh, whose transactions and sales grew by more than 200% from January to November.

For the chairman of Tmcel's Management Committee, Mahomed Adamo Mussá, "this is another milestone in the company's long stage of revitalization. Now, in addition to coverage in all the provinces with the modern 4.5G network, we offer people very attractive packages of unlimited voice and data, but without neglecting the quality and speed of the data," said Mahomed Mussá.

Also as part of this project, Tmcel is already delivering capacities of up to 200 Gigabytes for the business segment to various points in Niassa via its backbone.
