Today, the Second Chamber of the Matola Judicial Court ordered a recount of the votes cast at all the polling stations in the Matola municipality. 

The decision follows an appeal lodged by the Democratic Movement of Mozambique (MDM), in which it denounced irregularities during the vote count.

"In the light of democratic principles and congruence, it decides to uphold this electoral appeal and, consequently, to order a recount of the votes from all the polling stations in the IV Municipal Elections in the city of Matola, taking into account the irregularities described," reads the court's order.

It should be noted that the same court dismissed Renamo's appeal, which also challenged the election results.
