The market capitalization of the Mozambique Stock Exchange (BVM) rose in the third quarter of this year, to a weight equivalent to 25% of GDP, according to official figures.
The market capitalization - an approximation of the market value of companies and securities - accumulated by the end of June corresponded to 24.37% of Mozambique's Gross Domestic Product (GDP), writes Lusa citing BVM data.
According to the same source, at the end of the third quarter, in September, this market capitalization rose to 178,541 million meticais and 25.07% of GDP and a turnover of over 19,339 million meticais.
At the end of the third quarter, BVM had 76 listed securities, including 13 companies, but 87% of the market capitalization corresponded to Treasury Bonds in September.
Among the companies listed on the stock exchange in Mozambique are Companhia Moçambicana de Hidrocarbonetos, Cervejas de Moçambique, Hidroelétrica de Cahora Bassa, Arko Seguros and Rede Viária de Moçambique, among others.
