Mozambique and Ghana want to cooperate in defense and security

Moçambique e Ghana querem cooperar na defesa e segurança

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Verónica Macamo, said that Mozambique and Ghana could cooperate in the areas of defense and security, local government and agriculture.

The information was provided after the signing of cooperation agreements as part of the first session of the Mozambique-Ghana Joint Commission, which kicked off last Monday.

"We should also highlight the industrial sector, as our two countries need to move towards an approach of exporting micro-processed products rather than raw products," she said, quoted by Rádio Moçambique.

"Because we export raw products, we need to process more and more, so that we have the value that the processing itself allows us to integrate into the products," added Macamo.

The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Akufo Addo, began a three-day state visit to Mozambique on Wednesday to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.

And according to the Presidency statement, as part of this visit, Nana Akufo Addo will be received today by the Head of State, Filipe Nyusi.

At the meeting, information could be shared on the political, economic and social situation in the two countries and beyond.
