Thirty terrorist leaders were killed in Cabo Delgado province by the Defense and Security Forces, with support from local forces, the SADC Military Mission and Rwanda.
Sixteen of those killed are Mozambican nationals, 10 are Tanzanians and another four are of unknown nationality, said the Commander General of the Police of the Republic of Mozambique (PRM), Bernardino Rafael, quoted by the News.
The Mozambicans include Bonomar Muemede Machude, Abu Kital, Abdulai, Jabir Awade, Sumail and Hamza (father and son), Issa Wachio, Abudo, Abubacar, Nvita Ya Namalala, Abdular Naenda, Saide Bongue, Abdureheman Bacar and Zuber.
Among the Tanzanians are Farage Nancarava, Selemane Ntoto, Rajabo Faquir, Abu Fadhila, Mohamudo, Mustafa, Abu Salman, Sudesse Nanjuma, Abu Hadira and Hadjo Ulatule.
Meanwhile, Bernardino Rafael noted that there had been more casualties on the side of the terrorists, which is reflected in their actions in small groups scattered around the villages of Cabo Delgado.
But he also guaranteed that the actions to combat the leadership are still underway and that the fight is still on track.
