For the first time, Mozambique will have an industry for the production and processing of magnetite, an important mineral for the coal, iron and steel industries.
To this end, the foundation stone was laid a few days ago for the construction of the magnetite factory in Tete province, as part of the presidential initiative "Industrialize Mozambique".
The governor of Tete, Domingos Viola, explained the importance of the project for the province and the country in general.
The Governor of Tete province, Domingos Viola, explained that magnetite, among many purposes, is also used for washing coal
"We have coal that is being explored in Moatize, in Marara, but we also have other deposits that have not yet been explored, which means that the end product of this factory will ensure that the processing of this mineral (magnetite) that we have is of quality and can be sold around the world," said the governor, quoted by RM.
According to the source, the project to be built in the village of Catipo, in the district of Moatize, in the province of Tete, has the capacity to produce 75,000 tons of this mineral a year.
