Mozambique Airlines (LAM) announced on Monday that it will increase its aircraft fleet from the current five to 14 planes and operate intercontinental routes, as part of its revival led by South African company Fly Modern Ark.

The information was shared by the company at a press conference as part of the first 30 days of the South African company's work to save LAM from the debt imbroglio.

According to the Project and Restructuring Manager of Fly Modern Ark, Sérgio Matos, the increase in the fleet will be gradual.

With the increase in its fleet, LAM will soon be able to fly to the European, American and Asian continents. As Radio MozambiqueAmong other destinations are Lisbon, in Portugal, Europe; São Paulo, in Brazil, South America; and Mumbai/Bombay, in India, and Ganzhou, in China, both countries in Asia.

Also as part of the revitalization of LAM, the cities of Beira and Nampula will soon be departure points for flights to domestic destinations.

Fly Modern Ark is the South African company hired to restructure LAM in the face of the crisis facing the national flag carrier.
