Russia again threatens non-prolongation of grain export agreement

Rússia volta a ameaçar o não prolongamento do acordo para exportação de cereais

Russia warned on Friday that it will not extend the Black Sea grain export agreement if its demands are not met.

According to SIC Notícias, Moscow had agreed last week to renew the protocol until July 17, but now intends to back down.

The Kremlin is now repeating the same threats and conditions: it wants its own grain and fertilizer exports to be facilitated.

By March of this year, 23 million tons of grain had been transported under the agreement brokered by the United Nations and Turkey. More than 65% of the cargo arrived in developing countries.
