The Ukrainian Foreign Minister, Dmytro Kuleba, today invited the President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, and the Foreign Minister, Verónica Macamo, to visit Ukraine to strengthen relations between the two countries.
The head of Ukrainian diplomacy told a press conference after separate meetings with Filipe Nyusi and Veronica Macamo in Maputo that he looked forward to receiving both of them in Ukraine to further develop relations between the two countries
"We agreed to boost relations between Ukraine and Mozambique, including in the areas of trade, delegation exchanges, construction, cybersecurity and digitalization," he reiterated, adding that "to this end, a business forum will be organized between the two countries.
The Ukrainian diplomat also announced that the country will open an embassy in Mozambique and that "agreements will be prepared to establish solid legal bases for bilateral relations".
Mozambique has been one of the countries that has remained neutral in the face of the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the war, thus considering itself in a better position to call for a dialog to end the conflict.
