The Dubai Chamber in Mozambique, in partnership with the Mozambique Chamber of Commerce (CCM), Absa Bank Mozambique and the Muslim Association of Mozambican Businessmen and Entrepreneurs (AMEEM), organized a Business Mission to Dubai, which took place from 2 to 4 May 2023.
The aim of this Absa Bank-funded mission was to promote business and partnerships between Dubai and Mozambican companies. The mission included a Business Forum, visits to the two Special Economic Zones, B2B meetings and a workshop on procedures for expanding business in Dubai.
The delegation, led by CCM President Álvaro Massingue, was made up of 40 companies and 50 participants. The companies are from various economic sectors, with an emphasis on Mining, Oil and Gas, Technology, Construction, Transport and Logistics and Agribusiness.
According to Álvaro Massingue, the aim of this mission was to promote commercial exchanges between business classes, business partnerships and investments, thus boosting the economic development of Mozambican companies.
"With this mission, we have reaped several mutual benefits, from partnerships to finding solutions that will make both countries' markets sustainable, and for Mozambique we are looking to internationalize our products and services," he said. The Executive Director of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, Abdulla Momade, said that trade between Dubai and Mozambique has exceeded the 1 billion dollar mark for the first time, with a total of 1.3 billion dollars by 2022, which demonstrates the strategic role that the country has in trade relations with Mozambique.
According to the Managing Director of Absa Bank Mozambique, Pedro Carvalho, "We believe that strategic partnerships are key to driving innovation and promoting a healthier and more sustainable business environment. Together we can overcome challenges and seize opportunities for the benefit of all involved. We are very happy with this step and believe it has added value to Mozambique's economic growth'
