Electricidade de Moçambique (EDM) accounts for losses of around 20 million dollars, around 1.2 billion meticais, due to the damage caused by the passage of tropical cyclone Freddy, in the city of Quelimane alone, said an official source.

EDM's Executive Director for Business Development, Pedro Jossias, was quoted by RM as saying that a large part of the loss is due to the need to replace damaged electrical infrastructure.

Pedro Jossias was speaking this Thursday in Maputo during the Standard Bank Economic Briefing 2023, organized by this financial institution.
