Government urges new LAM management to adopt competitive pricing

The government, through the Minister of Transport and Communications, Mateus Magala, argued on Saturday in Gaza province that it is necessary to apply prices that can make Mozambican airspace accessible to the population, which is currently not the case due to the high prices charged by Mozambique Airlines (LAM) for air tickets.

"I've never hidden it and I've always been open, saying that the prices in Mozambique could be better. For a competitive environment, I believe that the prices that LAM charges are unappealing. They don't make the company proud, as they scare passengers away," he said.

According to Mateus Magala, the government intends, through competition incentives and good management, to bring prices that can make the national airspace accessible to the entire population.

He also said that LAM's new management should focus on repositioning the national airline.
