The former president of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, is on his way back to Brazil after three months in the United States. According to CNN BrazilAccording to a report by CNN Portugal, the former Brazilian head of state flew to Orlando on Wednesday night (early Thursday morning in Mozambique) and is due to land at Brasilia International Airport in the early morning.
Speaking to CNN, Bolsonaro said that he is not returning to lead "any opposition", not least because he considers Lula da Silva's government to be "an opposition in its own right", but he guaranteed that he will participate in his party "as an experienced person" and that he will collaborate "as they wish".
As for a possible collaboration with the current administration, Bolsonaro said that there is no such possibility.
Jair Bolsonaro, who traveled to the US on the day he handed over the presidential sash to Lula da Silva, also denied any irregularities in the case of the jewels he received as a gift from Saudi Arabia.
Regarding future plans, he also said that he won't forget his supporters and that he will therefore travel around Brazil "once or twice a month" to talk to them.
