The National Roads Administration (ANE) needs around 800 million meticais to repair the damage caused by floods to the road network in Maputo province.
Rubina Noormamad, ANE's delegate in Maputo province, was quoted by Diário Económico as saying that the "sector is carrying out minor repairs to ensure that the roads completely cut off by the fury of the waters are passable" and announced that work would begin on the Impaputo bridge on the N3 (Namaacha district, which connects Maputo province to the kingdom of Eswatíni), which was also destroyed by the floods.
It should be noted that last February, the government had already ensured that repairs to infrastructure damaged by flooding in some parts of Maputo province would take place as soon as the phenomenon had passed.
