The electoral bodies in Mocímboa da Praia, Cabo Delgado, are back in operation, two years after the district was recovered by the Defense and Security Forces and allied Rwandan troops from the hands of terrorists, said an official source quoted by Rádio Moçambique.

According to the president of the Provincial Electoral Commission in Cabo Delgado, Albino Pariela, the reinstallation of the electoral administration machine in the district is aimed at preparing for the local elections scheduled for October this year and the general elections in 2024.

The source also said that at the moment political parties in Mocímboa da Praia are already gearing up for the upcoming electoral race.
