COP27: Mozambique defends more investments for vulnerable nations

Mozambique wants to see more financial resources allocated to nations vulnerable to the impact of climate change, aimed at their adaptation, mitigation, resilience, and energy transition.

The information was advanced by the Minister of Land and Environment, Ivete Maibaze, as part of the 27thᵃ Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27), being held in Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt.

According to the newspaper "Notícias", Mozambique's position is aligned with that of African countries and other less developed nations that advocate an increase from 100 to 300 billion dollars, the amount allocated for mitigation and adaptation to climate change.

The Mozambican delegation participating in the meeting is led by the President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, who will share the country's experience in reducing the risks of natural disasters that affect the country cyclically.
