The Frelimo, Renamo and MDM benches approved in generality the revision bill that establishes the legal regime of the Foreign Citizen, fixing the respective rules for entry, stay and exit of the country, as well as their rights, duties and guarantees and revokes n.5/93, of December 28.

Frelimo said this is a timely revision of the law since it will strengthen the system of control and monitoring of migration flows and allow the accountability of demeaning promoters, instigators and facilitators of illegal immigration, providing public safety and tranquility in the country.

The Renamo and MDM benches agree with the party with the most seats in parliament, but say that more than approving the revision of the instrument, there is a need to fight corruption and strengthen the borders to combat illegal immigration.
