The National Institute of Meteorology (INAM), in Niassa, appeals to the region's farmers not to sow the seed too early, in view of the forecasted occurrence of the El Niño phenomenon during the upcoming rainy season.
Data from INAM indicate that Niassa province will experience normal rainfall with a trend to below normal, especially in the northern region, in the period from October to December; normal rainfall with a trend to above normal, from January to April 2023.
And to avoid the deterioration of seeds in production fields, the delegate of the National Institute of Meteorology in Niassa, Tomás Inácio, appeals to farmers to rely on information from the sector, for the start of sowing.
The source that is quoted by Radio Mozambique says that the climatic variability unfavorable to the producers, results from the climatic changes that the planet Earth is suffering.
