The first honorary members of Frelimo party, the political formation that governs the country since 1975, were proclaimed moments ago. They are three founding members and three former secretaries-general of the ruling party.

The first list includes honorary members, the names of Feliciano Gundana, Lopes Tembe, and João Munguambe, all founding members of Frelimo.

On the same occasion, the former secretaries-general Manuel Tomé, Filipe Paúnde, and Eliseu Machava were also proclaimed honorary members of this political formation.

The six names were proposed by the President of Frelimo and were approved, by acclamation, by the delegates to the XII Frelimo Congress, which ends this Wednesday.

Thus, these personalities enter directly into the Central Committee, dispensing with the electoral race.
