The Zambezi Agency is investing about 160 million meticais in the operationalization of the agricultural mechanization program, as a way to stimulate the rice chain and other priority crops produced in the central region of the country.
For this purpose, the agency has just delivered seven rice harvesters, fifteen tractors and respective agricultural implements, in the district of Nicoadala, Zambézia province.
The equipment now allocated adds to those recently distributed in Sofala, making a total of 12 harvesters, thirty tractors of various functions, suitable for land preparation for rice production.
The equipment will benefit 20,000 rice producers based in Zambézia and Sofala provinces. Alves Júnior, delegate of the Zambezi Agency in Zambezia province, made it known that with the allocated means there will be an increase in production of more than ten thousand tons, with a yield of three tons per hectare against the current 1.5.
