The capture of surface shrimp and mangrove crab will be prohibited from next month until March 2023. The measure aims to allow the reproduction of the species throughout the Mozambican coast, according to an official source.
Leonid Chimarizene, spokesman for the National Institute of the Sea, Public Institute (INAMAR-IP) explained to "Notícias" that the ban period will be characterized by a close inspection of prevaricators, seizure of illegally caught products and of gears considered harmful.
According to the source in the veda period, its institution will raise awareness among fishermen in particular and society in general for strict compliance with the measure, taking into account the benefits of fisheries management for the subsequent fishing season.
