Access Bank launches 2nd edition of 'Womenpreneur Pitch-A-Ton Mozambique 2022' competition

Access Bank Mozambique has recently launched the 2nd edition of the 'Womenpreneur Pitch-a-thon Mozambique 2022' competition, aimed at empowering women business owners and entrepreneurs.

The goal is to equip these women with more and better financial and business skills, so that their organizations can develop in a sustainable way.

For this year's edition, Mozambican women are eligible from all business sectors, between the ages of 18 and 55, who have a company in operation, duly registered for at least one year, or who hold 20% of the shares of a company operating during the same period.

Inserted in the 'W Initiative' project, the contest, which bets on female empowerment, will last until next September and will have as its main focus the dissemination of a training program, consisting of sections of workshops directed to the candidates, involving modules associated with entrepreneurship, finance, leadership, management, and digital marketing.

Virgínia Muxlhanga, Access Bank representative, explained that, in order to apply, the contestants should, until September 15, fill out a registration form, available on the bank's website or social networks.

"The program comprises three phases, the first being to receive and select the top 150. In phase two we will ask companies to send descriptive videos of their organizations and we will select the top 30 projects. Finally, in phase three, we will deliver certificates to the 30 finalist companies and we will award a top 3 with financial grants," said Virginia Muxlhanga.

The first edition was a great success where women from all over the country participated and had the opportunity to experience an exclusive, certified training program and have access to business coaching.

The 'Womenpreneur Pitch-a-ton' Program is the first of its kind initiative to support business women in the banking sector. It is designed to provide women-led businesses across Africa with an opportunity to access world-class financing and business training, acting in the areas of financing, capacity building and creating networking opportunities for female applicants.

Since it began operations in Mozambique, Access Bank has been a leading advocate for women's economic empowerment through the 'W Initiative' program.

The initiative supports Access Bank's value proposition of being the number one bank of choice for women in Mozambique.
