Polytechnic University and SPROWT Foundation strengthen educational cooperation

Universidade Politécnica e Fundação SPROWT reforçam cooperação educacional

The Polytechnic University and the SPROWT Foundation have recently signed, in Maputo, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which aims to establish partnerships that will allow the establishment of scientific knowledge in social intervention initiatives.

The agreement also aims at cooperation between the institutions, in their respective areas of action and vocation, with emphasis on educational and organizational development programs.

In this context, the Polytechnic University contributes, through its vocation, with training and the SPROWT Foundation with the promotion of social intervention initiatives, in different thematic areas, namely education, gender, organizational development and leadership.

On the occasion, Narciso Matos, rector of the Polytechnic University, mentioned that the agreement between the two institutions means the materialization of ongoing actions, which will require the delivery and automatically open doors for advancement in the areas of cooperation and education.

"This act means the materialization of the actions underway, which will require a lot of dedication on our part. The signed memorandum will open doors so that everything that, in the past, we could not achieve alone, from now on, together, we can accomplish", said Narciso Matos.

For her part, the director general of the SPROWT Foundation, Rumina Fateally Noormahomed, explained that the act of signing the MoU formalizes and creates bridges and programs, for the development of the areas of action of the two institutions.

"We are aware that education is fundamental and we want development to involve the awareness of all, in the sense that we have an inclusive education, which is a right for all. We want, with this MoU, to add value in the areas of gender, education, and sustainable development," concluded Rumina Fateally Noormahomed.

It is important to mention that some teachers from the Polytechnic University will integrate the group of trainers of the course on leadership, specific and exclusive for women, promoted by the SPROWT Foundation, to be held in September, in the city of Maputo.
