ANA - Aeroportos de Portugal (Portuguese Airports) estimates that during this Tuesday 28 flights will be canceled to and from Lisbon airport, between 12 departures and 16 arrivals.
"There are 28 cancelled flights scheduled for today at Lisbon Airport: 16 arrivals and 12 departures," an official source told Lusa.
This number of cancellations is lower than during Monday, with ANA reporting 32 cancellations arriving at and departing from Humberto Delgado Airport, after 65 cancellations on Saturday and 39 on Sunday.
Among the flights canceled this morning are, for example, the British Airways flight from Lisbon to London's Heathrow airport, Azores Airlines' flight to Pico Island, and TAP's flights to Oslo, Norway, and to Seville, Spain.
"Constraints" at several European airports and the closure of the runway at Lisbon airport for a few hours last Friday due to the burst tires of a private jet have been blamed as the main causes for the cancellation of flights.
In the origin of these situations are staff shortages, strikes and other aggravating external factors, namely climatic, covid-19 related or unforeseen. (Lusa)
