Mozambique participates in the 8th Portugal Cybersecurity Conference, called C-Days 2022, organized by the National Center for Cybersecurity (CNCS), at the Estoril Conference Center, Portugal, bringing together experts and amateurs in the field of cybersecurity to discuss the sector.
The C-Days 2022 Conference, with the slogan "Investing in Prevention", features speakers from different areas, including managers, professionals, academics, students, and the general public, who will provide discussions and reflections aimed at consolidating the levels of cybersecurity in the ecosystem.
Among the speakers, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Institute of Information and Communication Technologies (INTIC), Lourino Chemane, spoke on the panel on Geopolitics and Cyber-Security, along with Felipe Pathé Duarte, from Nova Scool of Law, and Luís Barreira de Sousa, from the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Mozambican delegation includes, besides INTIC staff, employees from other public institutions such as the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education, the Bank of Mozambique, and Mozambique's National Institute of Communications (INCM).
The country's participation in the event is a result of the partial implementation of the Cooperation and Collaboration Plan between INTIC and Portugal's CNCS, agreed in 2021, which includes the integration of Mozambique as an observer in Portugal's cyber security exercises and of CNCS staff in INTIC's training actions in the area of cyber security in the next two years.
