The city of Maputo is hosting today, a Conference on the 100th anniversary of the birth of the first Tanzanian president and Pan-Africanist, Julius Nyerere.

Entitled "Julius Nyerere,100 Years -1922-2022, Pan-Africanism; Present and Future," the conference will feature keynote speaker Jakaya Kikwete, former president of the United Republic of Tanzania.

According to a statement quoted by Radio Mozambique, the Conference is organized by the Samora Machel Foundation and the Pedagogical University of Maputo.
