Nespresso has partnered with Zèta, a zero-waste fashion startup, to launch a unique collection of sneakers made with the brand's coffee grounds.
Each pair of RE:GROUND sneakers is produced with the equivalent of 12 Nespresso coffees, in which the beans are recycled and turned into vegan synthetic leather. The sneakers are made of recycled and sustainable materials.
Just like when it comes to drinking coffee, there are several options to choose from: do you prefer a Ristretto, a Cappuccino, or a Latte? The difference is in the color of the soles, which range from black, to brown, to white.
"My vision for Zèta was to create stylish sneakers for eco-conscious fashion lovers. For this capsule collection, our fabric designers at Tintex took eight months to perfect an innovative vegan synthetic leather made from recycled coffee grounds. RE:GROUND is the embodiment of our collaboration with Nespresso - a chic and stylish shoe that celebrates the value of coffee and the virtue of circularity.", defines Laure Babin, CEO of Zeta quoted by Green Severs.
The RE:GROUND collection is a limited edition made in Portugal, and is on sale at Zèta's website for 155 euros. The brand only ships to customers in Europe.
