The defense lawyers of the "DTM case" (Migration Labor Directorate), whose trial is being held at the KaTembe District Court, presented, on Tuesday (09), their closing arguments, after a week marked by several revelations made by the declarants.
Among the statements, it is worth noting that of the declarant Amélia Vicente, an employee of the Maputo Provincial Labor Directorate. According to Vicente, quoted by the newspaper "Domingo", it seems that there was a need to requalify the documents of the Ministry of Labor (MITRAB).
The declarant reportedly explained to the Court that she received a call alerting her to the fact that ministerial documents were on their way to the Malhampsene dump for disposal.
The person who would have called Amelia Vicente was MITRAB's SNAE (National System of State Archives) coordinator, Jose Manuel, on a Saturday afternoon in 2019.
After the operation became unfeasible, the documents were transported to the Provincial Directorate of Labor, and remained in the courtyard, preventing even the parking of the institution's cars. The next day, the declarant added, the documents were removed, and she had no knowledge of the destination of the ministerial paperwork.
After the closing arguments, where the defense accused the prosecution of incipiency and of being in violation of the law, the Court decided to schedule the reading of the sentences for July 28.
