According to the newspaper Económico, the basketball player was the highest paid in the sports world last year, if we add fixed salary, awards and sponsorships. LeBron James has contracts with brands such as Nike, PepsiCo, Rimowa and Crypto, among other companies, and has more than 200 million followers on social networks.

Footballers Lionel Messi (116 million euros) and Cristiano Ronaldo (109 million) complete the podium, followed by Neymar (98 million) and boxer Canelo Álvarez (84 million euros, according to the same portal.

The highest paid tennis player was Roger Federer, who amassed 81 million euros, which puts him in 8th place. Closing the top-10 is the highest paid golfer, Tiger Woods, with 70 million euros. Next in 11th place is American soccer's Matthew Stafford. In 19th place is Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton, who earned 51 million Euros, and in 22nd place is Conor McGregor. The famous MMA athlete recorded earnings of 49 million euros.

In between, we find the highest paid female athlete. The tennis player Naomi Osaka was in 20th position if we count male athletes, having earned 51 million euros.
