Livestock production in Mozambique grew 17%

Mozambique recorded a livestock production of close to 34 thousand tons in the first quarter of this year, representing a growth of 17% compared to the same period in 2021.

Between January and March of last year, the production of meat in the country was situated at 29 thousand tons.

A balance-sheet report from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, cited by Radio Mozambique, indicates that the production of beef and poultry, registered the highest growth in the period under review.

By the end of the year, the Government projects the production of 183,500 tons of diverse meat, throughout the country.
