Credit Suisse increases losses to 267 million euros in the quarter

Credit Suisse saw its losses worsen to 273 million Swiss francs (267 million euros) in the first quarter on litigation costs and the fallout from the Russia-Ukraine war.

According to the newspaper Económico, the results of Credit Suisse continue to mirror the scandals that have affected the bank, which is already suffering the fourth quarter in six of negative results.

The numbers were weaker than expected and the bank again made significant changes
in top management.

David Mathers, who has been a financial administrator since 2010, is leaving the bank. However, he will remain in the position until a replacement is found.

The net loss of 273 million Swiss francs for the quarter comes after the bank last week gave the market a profit warning.

On Wednesday the Swiss bank confirmed Russia-related losses totaling 206 million Swiss francs. There was also a blow of 155 million Swiss francs related to the Archegos scandal.

The CEO, Thomas Gottstein, told CNBC that this was a "difficult quarter."
