On the 26th day of military conflict in Ukraine, the Russian offensive again used hypersonic missiles for the second day in a row to destroy a Ukrainian army fuel stockpile in the south of the country.
Russia said that these missiles it is using have a range of up to two thousand kilometers and fly at 10 times faster than the speed of sound.
"A large fuel stockpile was destroyed by Kalibr missiles fired from the Caspian Sea, as well as hypersonic ballistic missiles fired by the Kinjal aircraft system from Crimean airspace," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement quoted by the French AFP news agency quoted by Negócios.
The ministry added that the attack took place in the Mykolayiv region and noted that the target destroyed was "the main source of fuel for Ukrainian armored vehicles" deployed in the south of the country.
The Kinjal ("dagger" in Russian) hypersonic ballistic missile belongs to a family of new weapons developed by Russia.
