Montepuez Ruby Mining (MRM) will invest about 59.6 million dollars in the installation of a second fuel processing and storage unit in order to double its operations, in the district of Montepuez, Cabo Delgado province.
In a press release, quoted by clubofmozambique, MRM considers that "the project will have a significant impact for both the company and the country.
With the start-up of the new plant, whose construction work begins next July, in addition to the improvement of current processing and storage, the company's revenue base will increase, according to MRM's Deputy General Manager, Claudius Nhongonhema.
The increase in the company's capacity, will lead to an increase in the production tax and royalties paid to the Mozambican government.
The new facility is expected to create an additional 400 jobs, helping to reduce the level of unemployment in the surrounding communities.
MRM's current installed capacity is 200 tons per hour, and when the new facility is installed, this will increase to over 400 tons per hour. The current fuel storage capacity is 130,000 liters, which will now become 300,000 liters.
