Apple suspends product sales in Russia

Apple announced on Tuesday the discontinuation of its online business in Russia in response to that European country's invasion of Ukraine. Customers in Russia can no longer buy Macs, iPhones, iPads, and other Apple devices.

A statement from Apple reflects the company's concern over the Russian invasion of Ukraine "and we stand with all the people who are suffering as a result of the violence."

The document advances that the apple company is offering humanitarian aid to people seeking refuge as well as to "our teams in the region."

Apple will also stop all exports in its sales channels in the country.

The company added in a statement that it has also limited access to the 'Apple Pay' payment system and stopped offering certain information about maps of Ukraine in the 'Apple Maps' app to protect the safety of Ukrainian citizens.

The Russian state media RT News and Sputnik News are no longer available for download in the Apple Store outside Russia.
