ARA-Centro assures that the Zambezi basin is slowing down

ARA-Centro assures that the Zambezi basin is experiencing a considerable slowdown in the main hydrometric stations.

The fact is a result of the slowdown of rainfall in some districts of Tete province and beyond, according to the head of the water resources department in that institution.

Francisco Macaringue said that the same is happening with the Revubuè basin, which is about two meters below the alert level.

Even so, Macaringue urges people who live or have residences in the flood-prone areas to be up to date with information about the behavior of the two basins.

Macaringue made it known that normally the rain that falls in the neighboring republic of Malawi, does not have an influence on the Revubué basin but on that of the Chirre River.
