Inhambane province is one of the focal regions for German development cooperation in Mozambique. In recent years alone, German cooperation projects estimated at 70 million euros have been implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the German Development Bank (KFW), reads a statement from the German embassy sent to our newsroom.
These are projects related to Decentralization and Public Finance, Decentralization and Public Finance, Economic Development, and Social Energy.
The German Development Bank is currently financing municipal infrastructure in Inhambane, Maxixe, Massinga, Vilankulo and Quissico through the projects "PODIA" and "Cidades Costeiras" for a total of 25 million euros.
It was in the wake of this cooperation that the German ambassador, Lothar Freischlader, recently visited different undertakings and projects funded and implemented by German cooperation, among them, the Eduardo Mondlane Industrial and Commercial Institute, which received funding of 4.5 million euros and showed himself "satisfied with the level of implementation of German cooperation projects.
