A single page of Spider-Man book auctioned for USD 3.36 million

Heritage Auctions has raised a record $3.36 million with the bidding of a single page from a 1984 Spider-Man comic book in Dallas, USA, on Thursday.

The initial bidding value of the page was $330,000 and happened on the first day of the four-day event dedicated to comics.

What page of dolls is that?

This is Marvel Comic's page 25 of Secret Wars #8, drawn by Mike Zeck that features the first appearance of Spider-Man's black suit. The symbiotic suit would eventually lead to the appearance of the character Venom.

The previous record for an interior page of an American comic book was $657,250 for the artwork of a 1974 issue of "The Incredible Hulk," which set the stage for Wolverine's appearance.

Also on Thursday, one of the first few surviving copies of Superman, "Action Comics #1," sold for $3.18 million, placing it among the most expensive books ever auctioned.
