Filipe Nyusi demands quality education for children with disabilities

The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, defended today in Maputo, the need to invest in quality education for children with disabilities in the country.

For Nyusi, respecting the rights of people with disabilities requires everyone's involvement. To this end, the Head of State urges state actors, civil society, religious institutions and other public and private actors to carry out actions in a coordinated manner, and that result in the improvement of the situation of people with disabilities in all areas.

Filipe Nyusi, made this pronouncement during the official launching ceremony of the Inclusive Education and Development Strategy for Children with Disabilities 2020-2029.

The instrument aims to ensure the inclusion in the educational process of students with disabilities and/or special educational needs, thus fulfilling what is stated in the Constitution of the Republic of Mozambique and in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (Goal No. 4).
